LAHORE: On Wednesday, Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi made an announcement at the 10th meeting of the board of the Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation that the second phase of the Lahore Press Club (LPC) Housing Scheme would begin. (Reported by news source)
The CM indicated that 500 kanals of land would be set aside in the Tehsil Cantt for the allocation of 5 Marla plots for the Ashiana Housing Scheme. The illegal allotment of 15 plots in LPC’s B-Block was cancelled during the meeting, and the CM emphasized that the plots will be transparently distributed to the B Block’s residents.
The chief minister stated that 468 plots of five Marlas each would be provided under the Faisalabad Press Club housing programme and requested suggestions.
He excused the PJHF from paying the Finance department the interest due of Rs. 35 crores. He added that a housing programme for journalists was launched 18 years ago and announced intentions to gradually roll out housing programmes for journalists in other areas.
