QUETTA: On Thursday, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has approved a home programme for Gwadar’s low-wage fishermen. (Reported by news source)
The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) will get 200 acres of land from the Board of Revenue for the Fishermen Housing Scheme Colony.
Following the Balochistan CM’s permission, an initial budget of Rs 300 million has been set aside to launch a housing programme for struggling fishermen.
Technical supplemental grants of Rs822.7 million had been granted by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet to support fishermen in Gwadar.
The meeting was presided over by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who also approved technical supplemental funds for Baluchistan fishermen and the Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital (GTTH), Lahore, totaling Rs1022.750 million.
The committee authorised TSG in aid of Rs822.750 million after taking the Ministry of Maritime Affairs’ summary into account. The issue of health cards to fishermen who have registered with the Department of Fisheries and Coastal Development was authorised by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo
