PESHAWAR: According to KP Nisar Ahmad Khan, secretary of energy and power, the completion of several PEDO projects, which are in various stages of completion, is anticipated to bring more than Rs.10 billion to the province. (Reported by news source)
Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), a department of energy subsidiary, is a successful provincial business that has so far generated more than 32 billion rupees in revenue for the province while successfully completing a number of hydropower projects at a cost of Rs.9 billion.
However, the country’s ongoing economic problems are proving to be a significant roadblock to the completion of energy projects, for which an integrated approach is essential.
During a briefing, Chief Executive Officer of PEDO Engineer Naeem Khan stated that 42 energy transmission line projects, including hydro and solar electricity, are now under construction under the direction of PEDO. PEDO has so far successfully built 8 hydropower projects, producing a total of 172 MW of electricity. This generates an annual income of more than 4 billion rupees for the province.
