Punjab introduces online NOC service for property owners

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government is moving toward digitization despite the political unrest. Punjab’s Excise and Taxation Department has expedited the procedure for obtaining NOCs for the sale of properties, which is yet another positive development. (Reported by news source)

Citizens can now get the NOC for their properties online, saving them from having to visit the department’s branches and standing in long lines.

It is important to note that selling property located in the province’s metropolitan districts requires a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Excise and Taxation Department.

The department typically issues more than 1,000 NOC each day. The new system currently contains records for 40,000 properties. NOC won’t be published publicly for properties that are involved in litigation.

Separately, the Excise and Taxation Department was given permission by the Punjab government to begin hiring for open positions.

In the department, there are 416 open positions for students in grades 5 through 15. The department should soon post job openings.
