The nation’s economic slump is to blame for the nearly 21% fall. Domestic shipments fell by 16.77% during this period to 20.030 million tons from 24.065 million tons during the same period prior year.
According to figures from the All-Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), cement shipments decreased by 15.55% from December 1 to December 22. The total amount of cement shipped during December 22 was 3.881 million tons, compared to 4.595 million tons shipped during the same month of the previous fiscal year.
3.508 million tons of cement were shipped domestically by South-based mills from July to December 2022, a decrease of 10.10% from the 3.902 million tons of cement shipped domestically during the same time of the previous fiscal year.
