KARACHI: The Sindh government has established a fund of one billion rupees to safeguard the structures designated as historical sites. (Reported by news source)
The Board of the Endowment Fund, which the Government of Sindh established for the protection of historic sites and archaeological sites, issued a notification.
Speaking at the event, Sardar Shah said that the endowment fund will aid in making sure that archaeological sites and historical landmarks are preserved, repaired, restored, and maintained.
A policy for different organizations and businesses to invest in this fund under corporate social responsibility was ordered by the province minister.
The fund set up to safeguard the heritage, he said, will also be open to contributions from international organizations.
The Endowment Fund for Archaeological Sites and Heritage Buildings, according to the Sindh Minister of Culture, would be used not only for sites and buildings but also for the preservation and study of other aspects of Sindh’s cultural life.
The Sindh government provided 250 million rupees for the endowment fund for historic sites and structures during the current fiscal year, it was announced at the meeting.
