ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority intends to create a separate Islamabad Public Transport Wing to manage the Metro Bus Services. (Reported by news source)
The National Highway Authority and CDA proposed creating a service that would operate similarly to the Punjab Mass Transit Authority and manage the metro bus service in the nation’s capital.
Additionally, the green and blue lines of the metro began running between Koral Chowk and PIMS Hospital as well as between Bara Kahu and PIMS Hospital.
The CDA currently oversees all transit service operations with a small workforce and has planned to create a specialised branch led by the Deputy Director General to oversee the metro bus service.
It’s vital to note that the CDA has also been operating 13 feeders connecting various areas of the twin cities to the metro bus lines. These feeders consist of buses.
It was also disclosed that the authorities will contract 78 people for this wing.
