SINDH: The 306-kilometer M6 highway segment between Sukkur and Hyderabad was officially opened on Tuesday by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who also announced that the project will be finished in 30 months. (Reported by news source)
The official groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled on December 9 but was postponed due to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s pressing engagement.
The Peshawar-Karachi Motorway, which would connect Pakistan’s major cities, has one more segment: Sukkur-Hyderabad.
Imran Khan, the country’s former prime minister, launched the project in April 2021 as a component of a “historic development package” for Sindh. It is anticipated to cost Rs307 billion.
Under this project, a six-lane, 306-kilometer highway will be constructed on a construct, operate, and transition basis, with a concession tenure of roughly 25 years.
Through a public-private cooperation, the project will be completed in 30 months. Also appearing and speaking at the events in Sukkur and Hyderabad will be Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
