MULTAN: According to Capt. (R) Saqib Zafar, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for South Punjab, the Punjab government has allotted an additional Rs 1 billion for the building and extension of Mattital Road. (Reported by news source)
Saqib Zafar added that the project’s projected total cost is Rs 2.5 billion and that the 21-kilometer-long Mattital road will be built as a two-way roadway.
The work on a 10-kilometre road was already under way and that the first phase of the project had cost Rs 640 million. The second phase will cost Rs 400 million, Saqib Zafar added.
On his recent visit to Multan, Chief Secretary and Chairman P&D Abdullah Khan Sumbal, he claimed, was briefed about the project and Rs 1 billion had been allocated on his instructions for phase two.
According to Saqib Zafar, the highway department has been told to expedite the development project’s work.
